SEO Autopilot PBN – A Discussion

SEO Autopilot PBN on WordPress a Suggestion

This is a discussion piece regarding the possibilities of a true SEO Autopilot PBN module within this best in class link building application.

It’s clear from the sales page of SEO Autopilot that it will handle a PBN (private blog network) set up via the WEB2.0 sites that it links from. Our SEO Autopilot review shows the full feature set

That’s great and given the number of very high authority Dofollow sites that SEO Autopilot links from this seems like a great service.

But there is potential hidden power under the hood and it’s something the developers of this best in class link building software might consider adding if we ask for it nicely.

Self-Hosted WordPress Sites and SEO Autopilot

For those of you that want to create your own PBN’s self-hosted, full content control and no risk of interruption from the platform owner (such as your account getting banned) then self-hosting across a range of hosting providers is the way to go

What is an SEO Autopilot PBN (Private Blog Network)?

I won’t go into huge details regarding the benefit of creating a high value private network to link from. There are some excellent resources on the internet that will give you the how and why of it all

The issue is that SEO Autopilot PBN’s rely on certain aspects of the set up being very specifically managed.

The key features of a good network are;

  • Multiple domains, hosts and “C” class IP addresses
  • Different set ups, themes and content to avoid foot printing* your network
  • Easy manageability
  • Link obfuscation (do not be a selfish linker – see foot printing)
  • Tiered links to support the network
  • Continued content support to avoid “dead site” syndrome

The  challenges for creators of these link structures are many. The link above gives you most of the details you need to over come them. It explains how to get strong used domains, how to keep the domains content strength while adding your own content and links. How to manage multiple hosts and all that funky stuff.

Here we are looking specifically at  SEO Autopilot PBN challenges. There are two specific areas where you will come unstuck

One – Adding your SEO Autopilot PBN sites to the database

You look at the SEO Autopilot log in page and guess what. Your sites are not listed. So how can you add your sites?

This is already possible for WEB2.0 PBN sites. You can add your own Tumblr and WordPress.com and many others from within SEO Autopilot.

Tip

Regardless of your preference for a self-hosted PBN solution using SEO Autopilot, I would suggest adding a few 3rtd party sites into the mix as well. All part of avoiding a footprint.

The method would be the same. A .CSV file with the username and login details for each site. What is required is that the developers of SEO Autopilot PBN provide a script to allow admin access and content uploading. It would be a very similar script to the one they already have for WordPress.Org sites. But there is one big problem to overcome which brings us to issue 2

Host Specific WordPress Customisation

The issue with an SEO Autopilot PBN is the differences that host providers bring to the ubiquitous CMS (content management system) platform that is WordPress

If you use WordPress than you may have found there are many different variations of the log in process. Most of these are concerned with log in security. My personal experience is seeing perhaps 5 different Captcha devices used as standard as well as more recently an opt into a DMCA and data sharing agreement that is sometimes present – sometimes not.

My understanding currently is that there are at least 8 different log in front ends being used by the various hosting services, and only one that I’m aware of allows the user to customise these options before the CMS is installed.

The Compromise Solution

To get around this tricky situation. To get a solid SEO Autopilot PBN solution that avoids the developers updating 8 or more scripts, there is a compromise. Self installation

It’s still possible to take complete control of your WordPress installs. It is trickier to achieve initially as the instructions on the link above show. This method allows you complete control it is also completely consistent. It always sets up the log in screen the same way It is also possible with some automatic installing to alter the options from within the admin screen to make the experience the same as a user install. But this is the exception rather than the rule

What About Security?

Well, this is the big point. If you trim out the browser check, DMCA acceptance and Captcha requirement, you are leaving the access to the admin area of your WordPress site a little vulnerable.

So, a better solution might be to make a captcha enabled log in as standard or ask nicely whether Elias and the team at SEO Autopilot PBN development team if they will support and update more than one script.

One Last Thought

By default, the username for WordPress is “Admin”. Alter this with every site you make. Have a unique username and a unique password using at least 16 characters using upper- and lower-case letters, numbers and permitted symbols. This should keep your SEO Autopilot PBN safe.
